A few random thoughts for tonight:
- Do you ever wonder about the nurses at doctor’s offices? Can they call in sick to work?
- I am usually home body – big time. I have been home from work for the past 3 days. I’m bored out of my brain and ready to go back to work.
- There are a lot of things I wish were different. I read this today:
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” -Gandhi
I like that quote. What do you do when things appear to be beyond your ability to influence and God is silent when you pray?
- My family is coming for Christmas and I am really excited.
- My house looks like Santa threw up in it. It is pretty.

Last week:
Jeremy: You know the little guy we are sponsoring for the Angel Christmas Tree?
Me: Yeah
Jeremy: Well, I was looking at his wish list and I think I want to buy him everything on it.
Tonight:
Me: I got a new book at the library today, called The Almost Moon.
Jeremy stands up, turns around, bends over and pulls his pants down halfway and says, “Is this what the cover looks like?”
Yep, I just never know what to expect from that one.

Our conversation lastnight during commercial breaks of 30Rock:
Me: Remeber how we threw out our Christmas tree last year and decided we would get a pre-lit tree this year?
Jeremy: yeah
Me: Garden Ridge has a sale tomorrow on Christmas trees.
Jeremy: Do we need a tree this year?
Me: My whole family is coming for Christmas, a tree would be nice
Jeremy:meh.
Jeremy: Can we have a little 4ft tree?
Me: If we are going to have a tree I would like a big tree.
Jeremy: (silence)
Jeremy: Do we have to buy gifts for each other too?

President Elect Barack Obama and future First Lady Michelle Obama:

A little change can be good. I watched the news as the polls closed and Obama swept the country. I was in awe as his win was announced. I watched as he gave a phenomenal acceptance speech. Favorite quote from the evening, “While we breath, we hope.”
I teared up as I realized I was watching history unfold, and I had a part of it.
It was a very interesting election. People were passionate on both sides. People cared deeply about their party and took a vested interest in the future of the country. Regardless of how you feel about Obama, he moved people to action, resulting in an astounding number of new voters.
Two interesting facts regarding this election:
- Nine states flipped from red to bue. That is a pretty big swing. Usually there is a state or two , but nine?!?
- The NAACP was formed in 1909. It will be their 100 year anniversary when Barack Obama takes office.
I found this picture and thought it was fitting:

A little change is good.
People, history just happened. The story of our country just changed.

Today is the day where America votes for our next President. I woke up early and went to the polls. The lines were not too bad – 40 minutes or so. Everyone was respectful and it went well.
There was a very elderly man ahead of me in line today at the polls. He stated he was 96. He voted. It’s that important to vote that even 96 year old men who can barley stand and waiting in line to rock the vote . That says something. It is a right, but more of a responsibility. Go vote people.

It’s official.
I hate Halloween.
I tried to watch Ghost Hunters with Jeremy lastnight. The showed played errie music in the background and used night cameras that make people’s eyes look weird.
Then from the dark a voice said, “You shouldn’t be here.” I took that as my cue and left immediatley.
I lasted 33 minutes.
Then later I went outside to get something from my car and walked into a spiderweb.
I hate Halloween.
